Openreach look after the local access network - the fibres, wires and cables that connect tens of millions of homes and businesses to phone, broadband, data and TV services. They work on behalf of the UK's communications service providers.
We have worked with Openreach (formerly part of the BT group) for the last 10 years on a multitude of digital products. These include developing a postcode and phoneline checker tool (Linechecker API) allowing customers to discover the realtime availability of fibre broadband to their home or business.
This information is automatically updated from a central database of over 26 million records and is currently used by over 150,000 people each week. The software is responsive and allows users to access the information via smart phones and tablets as well as desktops. Other projects include the Community Leads Portal, an internal database, allowing Openreach teams to effectively manage community or group requests for fibre broadband throughout a project lifecycle; and development of router monitoring software and interface.
